In a time of climate change threats and record over consumption of the Earth's resources, it can be helpful to read positive information about measures being taken to reduce greenhouse gases and create a sustainable world. This blog presents positive stories about renewable energy adoption, sustainable living practices and electric vehicles (hopefully running on renewables). These measures are reported from experiences at home, from Canberra's move to 100% renewable electricity and its transition to a more sustainable society plus significant similar developments from Australia and the world.
For instance, at home a number of renewable and sustainable measures have been adopted to reduce the carbon footprint. Some of these include solar panels, battery storage, battery management system, an electric vehicle, solar hot water, double-glazed windows, rainwater tank, awnings for shade, diligent recycling and movement towards a bird and bee-friendly garden with vegetables and native plants.
